Steve at work on Potter's Wheel. - Andre Proulx

Thirty years ago Steve took his first pottery class. The feel of the wet clay, the excitement of throwing his first cylinder had him hooked from the first time he sat at a potter’s wheel. Since then Steve has enjoyed exploring the endless world of clay and the fine arts.

Over the years he branched out into commercial design as well as photography. Steve kept his interest at the level of a dedicated student and enthusiastic amateur while pursuing a career in the Graphic Arts. Though he has operated a successful, if small, production studio Steve has pursued his love of the arts through co-ops, community centres and ongoing classes.

Today he would like to share a lifetime of pursuit in industrial design and fine art with you, the reader. The intent is to share insights and details that are often overlooked by both the amateur and professional artist. Mixed in will be the odd review of interesting happenings in the art world in Vancouver (Steve’s hometown) as well as insights into the general world of design.

Buckle up and come back often. This promises to be a fun ride.
